We have arrived in Bern, Switzerland along with 19 other teams, ready for the 6th running of Division 3 Tour, Monte Rosa. The tour spaced out over 5 stages, will be completed in 3 days, with the King Stage the most important, right in the middle. This is a long and torturing climb up the Swiss mountain known as Monte Rosa. Other stages include the prologue, an indivdual Time trial event, and two sprint stages. It is to be expected that the GC will be decided on the mountains.
This is the 3rd time we have been to this part of the world and withit we bring our strongest team ever. Captain Pietryzyk, has eyed this event for a while and is in Top Form with training going expertly over the last couple of weeks. We also arrive on a great run of form which could see the team arrive in the Top Division of OCM for the very first time.
The 6th running of this tour has brought about the strongest field ever, backed up by Top Division giants Trackstah07, dropping down the ranks just to be able to enter. Pundits are expecting a close run battle between Canadian Pettis and Pietryzyk for the GC, with many expecting Pietryzyk to have just to much power on the tough climbs.
Now we catch up with the favourite himself;
Reporter, "You have achieved 2 3rd places in the GC in the last 2 seasons, have won individual stages, what makes this time different in making you believe you can be stood on the top step?"
Pietryzyk, "Hardwork, and more importantly teamwork. I came to this young team, at a time when they were starting out as a climbing force, having just sold Nijholt, and seen it grow along with me. This team is the strongest I have ever ridden for, and having the managers trust to make me captain, means Im more motivated to deliver than ever."
Reporter, "How do you see the tour going?"
Pietryzyk, "Well obviously the TT doesnt suit us and neither do the sprints. We will be on a damage limitation excercise on the TT, and would hope to arrive in the bunch during the sprints. We aim to be on the front of the peloton during the mountains, and keep a nice high pace. It will be upto the other teams here to respond,.... if they have anything left in the tank."
Reporter, "With that you sound very confident of a win?"
Pietryzyk, "We've got former YC winner Lowik, 11th in GC last season in Retzlaff, antwo of the best domestiques around in Areosa and Huson, and finally the experienced Lewin. Of course were confident."

To bad man with only a 7th place for Pietrzyk. Hope he scores some points and cash 4 you in his remaining TF period :)
^The Rhys - The Cat is certainly a contender for the king stage, and should gain time on the prologue. Could bring him into contention
^Dave - Ill do my best, hopefully have an even more English look to the side soon. Banks has maxxed unfortunately, but Yearsley and Derrick are still coming along nicely
Good Luck, do England proud!!!
Nah, we got Lowik on radar... Pietrzyk is gonna get his groove on... TR is hoping for big splits in the sprint stages. Word. -TR
I like him being a darkhorse, means he won't be marked when going for the break away on stage 2 :P
Just realized I left Lowik out of the preview -_- lol. But everybody should know him anyway :-D
Best of luck! Watch Iacob beat both the guys getting all the publicity hahaha
Thanks :)
And good luck to you! I support Emerge to a GC victory ;)
Good luck to all
